DSA has experienced personnel who work with wave energy converter (WEC) developers to optimize their technology for reliability, efficiency, and power capture. DSA works cooperatively with its clients to improve designs and reduce physical prototyping expenditures using the simulation software ProteusDS.
ProteusDS uses the articulated body algorithm to efficiently simulate complex mechanisms like wave energy converters. Custom controllers, ends stops, and non-linear joint stiffness can be specified to accomplish accurate simulation of WECs in ProteusDS. In addition, the finite-element cable model within ProteusDS allows for fully coupled mooring analysis of WECs in both regular and irregular sea conditions.
